MSAC Spotlight: Ramya Baddigam

Where are you from originally?
Michigan

Do you have any family members who are OSU Medicine graduates?
No
 
Where was your undergraduate institution?
University of Michigan – Ann Arbor
 
What are your most thankful for in regards to your College of Medicine education?
I am most thankful for the environment at OSU COM. It’s a very friendly and collaborative atmosphere and the class is extremely supportive of each other.
 
What made you decide to come to Ohio State?
Ohio State has a great medical school, but what really influenced my decision to coRamya Baddigam.jpgme was the people. The faculty was very open and willing to work with medical students. The students themselves also seemed very happy at OSU. Ohio State has definitely lived up to this impression that I received on my interview day
 
Why did you choose a career in medicine?
I chose a career in medicine because it allowed me to combine a subject matter that I was extremely interested in with the ability to directly influence someone’s life for the better.
 

What advice do you have for students entering medical school at Ohio State?
I would advise incoming medical students to get to know their fellow classmates. OSU COM strives to have a diverse class. Everyone has such different experiences and backgrounds, and I still find myself learning new things about my classmates accomplishments.
